American drilling company with several Rigs in operation worldwide.


The role

  • Responsible for organizing and supervising the jobs on the drill floor, in the derrick, in the drilling mud mixing/storage area and in the mud pump room area as well as assisting the technical department in carrying out the first-line maintenance of equipment in these areas;
  • Make sure he is familiar with applicable procedures and checklists covering critical operations within his area of responsibility as well as safety routines and procedures;
  • Responsible for ensuring that all personnel under his supervision has the necessary qualifications and experience to carry out their work in a safe and proper manner;
  • Responsible for the practical training of the Derrick Man and Roughnecks;
  • Responsible for assisting the technical department in carrying out first line preventive maintenance on the drilling equipment under his supervision as described in Chikyu’s PMS. All preventive maintenance work carried out shall be reported to the Driller;
  • Actively take part in safety meetings and other meetings.

Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Must pass background check, drug screen and physical;
  • Must supply two professional references;
  • Employment history and education must be verifiable;
  • Valid well control certificate according to IWCF/WellCap standards;
  • One year as a Derrickman;
  • One year as an Assistant Driller.
