The role
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining main engines and associated equipment;
- Assist as necessary in the maintenance work;
- Keep the engine log on the daily diesel consumption and other necessary documentation being required within this area of responsibility;
- Shall have in-depth knowledge about:
- Transfer and receipt of diesel, water and lubricating oil;
- Oil, air and water systems;
- Electrical distribution 2-4 split;
- Operation of pumps, compressors and other machines;
- Hydraulic, diesel and electricity;
- Observe to uncover any unsatisfactory and immediately report these to his supervisor;
- Responsible for ensuring that all work is done safely and professionally and actively take part in safety meetings and other meetings;
- Carry out or assist in jobs or projects requested by his immediate superior.
Profile
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Must pass background check, drug screen and physical;
- Must be able to supply two professional references;
- Employment history and education must be verifiable;
- Engineer officer certificate class 3rd grade or equivalent to issuing authority;
- Graduate of accredited maritime academy or experience working as a licensed engineer on a rig.
