The role
- Responsible for organizing and supervising all the work on the drill floor, mud pump room, mud-mixing area and in the derrick as well as assisting the technical department in carrying out first-line maintenance of equipment in these areas;
- Responsible for ensuring that relevant safety and drilling related procedures, guidelines, equipment operating instructions, etc. are updated, well known and followed by all personnel under his supervision;
- Responsible for ensuring that Safe Job Analysis, etc. are being carried out by the personnel under his supervision, in accordance with the requirements in relevant management system;
- Responsible for ensuring that he has good knowledge and full understanding of the document “Well Specific Operating Guidelines” (WSOG);
- Responsible for ensuring that the DP operator is continuously updated on ongoing well operations. It is important that this communication also contains information about the periods of time when the super shear ram cannot be used.
- Responsible for ensuring that one competent person always is available in the driller’s cabin to disconnect the LMRP, if required, when operating on DP and with the BOP installed.
- Responsible for assisting the technical department in carrying out first line preventive maintenance on the drilling equipment as described in the rig’s PMS. All preventive maintenance work carried out by the drilling department shall be reported to the Tool Pusher.
Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Must pass background check, drug screen and physical;
- Must supply two professional references;
- Employment history and education must be verifiable;
- Valid well control certificate according to IWCF/WellCap standards;
- One year as a Derrickman;
- One year as an Assistant Driller.
